Reflection 7 weeks in, Half way there

Dog reflection
Source: Here

I honestly can't believe that we are half way through this course. I am very glad for all I've learned and grown in these past few weeks. This class has changed in part my perception of dogs and their relationship with us. I try and give these animals more autonomy in their lives. When I go home and visit my dog I work to read the signals she is giving to me to inform me of how she is feeling about my petting of her, if she needs food or water, if she wants to go outside, and if she just needs some solo time. This is har because I have such love for her and I only get to see her a few times a month I want to be around her all the time. This provision of autonomy provides her with a higher quality of life and helps me as I see her less and less during school. I am grateful for this class because of this shift in my way of seeing things. This is something I am excited to see how it evolves as this course continues.
