Project: The first draft

 This project has been a joy to start working on. I have finished the base portrait of Tex. Working on this portion is intimidating for me because I really wanted to correctly capture Tex. I was worried that my more amateur skills would render this portrait less endearing and more monstrous. While I was working on the piece I was snuggling to achieve the look I was looking for. This changed when I added white to the piece. The white was able to help the piece to come together. I was surprised because the look of the piece was hadn't changed by much. the paper I am using is white, but the addition of the white paint changed the piece for the better. 

My next steps to completing this piece is adding the mountain vista and the silhouette. I'm nervous to do this because I now have to paint over the white base layer. This may cause some bleeding which may be a good effect. I will have to practice on another piece of paper so I can understand how this will effect the final piece.
